The Raptor is great! Nice job! What's up with the Z-28? Is it a future project? Lots of potential there too

Yea, I have had the old Z for about 20 years now and it has sat for the last 15. I plan on eventually doing a frame up on it as well.

Thanks Rob. The cam is a mid to high range cam and will pull away from the low side, that is where the piston brings it back. We lined up several times out on the sand this last weekend. One buddy has an 06 raptor with a 734 BB, 10.5:1 piston, X4 cam, and headwork and I could pull him on the high side but he was able to get off the line better. The other buddy has an 06 with duels, PCIII, and an intake. He was taking me off the line too, not from power but I could not keep the front end down, by 3rd I was blowing by him. When I would hit 3rd gear it would bring the front end up again. The mid to high range on this now is unbelieveable.

The carbed models are duel carbs and can be a bear to get set up properly. The FI on the 06 and up 700's are really easy, it takes about 20 minutes or so to install the programmer. You have to buy a fuel programmer, the PCIII or PCV is the best there and you can usually find a fuel map that is close to just about any mod combination on any of the forums for raptors. When you make changes you just hook your laptop to the programmer and download your map. Mine has never seen a dyno, I am running a map I got from a friend and it seems to be spot on.

Hey Rob, if you need a service manual you can download it for free here in PDF format http://www.moddedraptor.com/?page=3

Two really good sources for the raptors are www.moddedraptor.com and www.raptorforum.com. Both have got a really good used parts classified section if you need something.
